Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to leave club at end of season

Arsene Wenger is set to leave Arsenal at the end of the season, one year before his contract was due to expire.

Wenger expressed in an official statement today, "After careful consideration and following discussions with the club, I feel it is the right time for me to step down at the end of the season."

"I am grateful for having had the privilege to serve the club for so many memorable years. I managed the club with full commitment and integrity."

The 68-year-old Frenchman's reign as manager has spanned over 21 years, winning three Premier League titles along the way. Arsenal has nonetheless not been able to be champions of England in 14 years.
