Top place retained going into 2018 Last game of the year, the HKCC B ladies were keen to retain the top spot.
The team that stood in our way was the then league leaders - Antlers A. Right from the whistle, the ladies came out fighting in true HKCC fashion.
Chances came early but conversion was not to be until a cracking strike from Lou on the edge of the circle made the all familiar bang on the backboard. 1-0 to HKCC sure lifted our spirits after missed opportunities earlier on.
Antlers A put up a fight with their speed, pressing us hard in the midfield and defending in the circle. We stood our ground and persisted to advance with the support of our defence - Caro, Karen, Dreamy and Lou.
Second half and still 1-0 up, the ladies were determined to solidify the win to end the first half of the season on a high. Coordinated passes and leads into the circle from our forwards and mids pushed Antlers into defensive mode.
Our resilience and determination in front of goal secured a 3-1 victory for the HKCC B Ladies. A tremendous team effort throughout the first half of the season.
