The 2019 HKT Hong Kong E-Prix will take place this Sunday, March 10 on the Central Harbourfront street circuit with the world-renowned Hong Kong skyline as a backdrop.
Now in its fifth season, Formula E has become a formidable motorsport signified by the highly-anticipated inclusion of Mercedes-Benz and Porsche next season.
Fans can expect to see exhilarating speeds - The Gen2 car, which made its debut this season, can touch 100km/h (60mph) in just 2.8 seconds, and reach a top speed of 280km/h (174mph).
However, drivers will have to be on their best game to navigate Hong Kong’s intense circuit. The Hong Kong E-Prix reaches 1.86km with ten turns, including two hairpins, and a 555m main straight.
The race format is 45 minutes plus one lap, which means once the 45 minutes is up drivers have to complete one extra lap.
Having hosted two races last season, the 2019 Hong Kong E-Prix will surely be another great spectacle and further reinforce Hong Kong’s identity has a hub for all sports.
