After the previous thrilling game against HKFC A, the rematch was to take place on their home turf and Football Club A were bound to come out all guns blazing.
Coach Rob sent us out with a more attacking structure, which had proved successful in our previous two games, in hopes of slotting another 4 goals against one of our toughest opponents.
The first half saw some excellent defensive play from HKCC with a barrage of short corners against them. Bridge and Gen defended well as first and second wave, stopping many of the attackers from getting a shot at goal.
However, that wasn’t the only thing HKCC had to defend as a stray short corner mask (Gen's) missiled towards an unsuspecting Griz in defense.
Despite some great defending and a few attempted diving tackles from Griz, HKCC A were 2-0 down at half time.
The second half saw HKCC force the HKFC goalie to make some good saves as a result of great runs down the baseline and running upfront from the forwards.
At the back, Gill continued to make some epic one-handed saves, however some quick breaks from HKFC lead to two more goals from them and a final result of 4-0.
Unfortunately, not the result we were hoping for but still finishing this year on a high, having met many of our goals set out this season.
And in true HKCC style, we celebrated with a festive Christmas party. Over and out 2017 - HK (pause) CC!
