Following the organisational success of Hong Kong’s inaugural Test match against Japan, the Hong Kong Rugby League (HKRL) are proud to announce the return of the 2018 Rugby League Nines and Mixed Tag competitions to King’s Park on 27th May.

Both HKRL Nines and Mixed Tag were launched in 2015 and immediately established their popularity amongst corporate teams, amateur clubs and schools alike in Hong Kong.

On top of that, the Nines has even managed to garner attention from overseas sides, attracting the likes of 2017 finalists Esarn All Stars from Thailand as well as reigning champions Diamond Chiefs, who will make the 4500km journey from Papua New Guinea to defend their title next year.

Prior to the Chiefs, the 2016 edition was won by the South Pacific All Stars, whereas the first-ever Nines competition was won by the Mongkok Creepers.

The Mixed Tag Rugby League competition, on the other hand, was won by Bacchus in 2015, HSBC in 2016 and the T8 Unicorns in 2017, the latter of which notably at the expense of current Copper88 Tag Champions Buffaloos.

Anyone interested in registering a team for either the Nines or Mixed Tag Rugby are welcome to contact info@hongkongrugbyleague.com.
