Match Report: HKCC D 2-1 HKFC H

With the D’s talisman, Sparrow returning to the fold after a false start last week the stage was set for a big grudge match against the HKFC.

The opportunity to stuff the rival Club on their new smurf turf was not lost on the D’s and it was obvious the midweek preparation and fitness had been meticulous.

From the opening push back the D’s were “locked in” with smooth selfless passing and ball movement. Attacks down the right channel were causing havoc which had the HKFC in bits.

An early goal against the run play by HKFC strengthened HKCC’s resolve and by half time, Prim had equalised in what can only best described as a Total team goal.

At half time with Chis, Paul and Mohit being safe as houses at the back, Louis and Goldie solid in the middle of the park, and Stu running amok, HKCC starting getting regular penalty corners and it was only a matter of time before Prim axed one to go up 2 -1.

If the bounce of the ball had gone the right way we could have been up 3 or 4 and it looked like we were home until Louis got his first career green card, but we defended well for the last 5 to get away with a well deserved win and team effort.
