Match Report: HKCC Ladies A 2-0 KCC A

With the 2017-18 Premier League season well underway, HKCC A ladies were still itching for a win. After two draws and a loss, the team were ready to add a victory to the list and that was exactly what they did against KCC A on Saturday.

Following a weekend off, the ladies were amped for their late kick off against KCC down at the Valley.

Going into the game, there was a positive energy and confidence amongst the girls, knowing that this was definitely a game that could be won. HKCC started strong, using Stacey and Jenny A on the wings who consistently distributed class balls to Ais and Jenny C up front.

Almost all the play in the first 15 minutes was spent in the KCC half with HKCC patiently waiting for an opportunity to net a goal. The opportunity soon presented itself, and after a small scrap around the penalty spot, Sonet skillfully placed the ball in the left corner of the goal. 1:0 to HKCC.

Despite keeping the majority of the possession in the first half, the scoreline remained unchanged going into halftime. Halfway through the second chuck, Becky perfectly exploited space that had been created on the left hand side of the pitch, passing a class ball off to Ais. Ais then went on to find Brige at the top of the D, who kept her composure and slotted the ball cleanly into the KCC goal!

HKCC continued to play some excellent hockey until the final whistle was blown. 2:0 to HKCC! First win for the ladies this year and no doubt the best hockey we have seen from the team so far this season.

Next job, HKFC A on Saturday, 4 November.
