In a HKJC Youth League U-16s Division 2 match on Friday, Sham Shui Po proved no obstacle to Tai Po, who cruised to a 4-1 victory on a chilly night at Happy Valley.

Tai Po began the match very much in the ascendancy, whipping 3 goals past the keeper in an early goalscoring frenzy followed by another in the second-half.

Just as essential on the night was their nigh-watertight defense, who restricted Sham Shui Po's scoring opportunities to a single goal which salvaged a modicum of pride for the side.

Videos highlights and interview:

“We adopted the tactics of making more passes than usual and constantly switching play between wings,” said captain Andy Liu.

“We have only won a couple of matches in this season so far, so hopefully this win will give our morale a boost.”

This U16 Division 2 match is part of the Youth Football Development Program sponsored by Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust which aims to cultivate sportsmanship and provide continuous formal training to the next generation of Hong Kong footballers.
